A Hidden Gem in the Heart of the Highlands

With a history steeped in the rich traditions of Scottish clans, Candacraig Castle stands as a testament to centuries of heritage. It was first built in the 17th century and later expanded in 1836 embracing the esteemed Scottish Baronial style that graces its noble façade. The Anderson family has owned the Lairdship of Candacraig and its surrounding lands since 1620, passing it down through ten generations.

Covering eighteen acres of private woodland and well-kept lawns, Candacraig offers endless opportunities for exploration. Guests can stroll through the delightful Victorian walled garden, find tranquility by the private lochan fed by the renowned River Don, or gather around the woodland bonfire for cherished moments by the crackling flames. Set against the majestic backdrop of Cairngorms National Park, which encompasses over 5,000 square kilometers of untamed natural beauty, outdoor enthusiasts are offered a natural playground, promising exhilarating adventures amidst its rugged terrain.

And, here, culinary excellence takes center stage, with a dedicated private chef and attentive staff poised to deliver gastronomic delights crafted from the finest local ingredients sourced from across Scotland. From the bounty of the surrounding oceans to the succulent flavors of Highland game, Scotland's culinary heritage finds expression in every dish, offering a sensory journey that elevates the art of dining.
