Day 1

Coach House Spa

  • Breakfast served in the breakfast room

  • Golfers play Gleneagles (30-minute drive). The King’s Course at Gleneagles is a masterpiece of design and has tested the aristocracy of golf both professional and amateur. It is truly one of the world’s most beautiful and exhilarating places to play the game.

  • Non-golfers may choose a spa morning at Gleneagles with a visit to Drummond Castle Gardens following lunch

  • All guests join for lunch at the Gleneagles Hotel

  • Return to Kinross House

  • Highland Games on the lawns. A team of professional kilted sportsmen will demonstrate the complexities of traditional Highland challenges such as tossing the caber, throwing the hammer, and throwing the welly boot. Guest participation encouraged!

  • For a less energetic activity, consider a croquet master class or falconry demonstration.

  • Barbecue dinner served in the garden overlooking the ruined Loch Leven castle

Day 2

 

  • Breakfast served in the breakfast room

  • Golfers play St Andrews (55-minute drive). Designed by legendary Old Tom Morris, St Andrews New Course dates back to 1895. Despite sitting immediately beside the Old Course, the most famous course in the world, it is much a leading links in its own right and is one of the best golf courses in Scotland. 

  • Golfers enjoy lunch at St. Andrew Old Course Hotel

  • Non-golfers may choose to shop at the House of Bruar (the “Harrods of Scotland”) and enjoy local sightseeing

  • Return to Kinross House

  • Drinks and hors d’oeuvres served in the drawing room 

  • Formal dinner served in the dining room overlooking the loch

  • Whiskey tasting with Charlier Maclean, a famous whiskey writer and star of the film ‘The Angel’s Share' in the Whiskey Library following dinner

Day 3

 

  • Breakfast served in the breakfast room

  • Golfers play Kingsbarns (1 hr drive). Kingsbarns is a seaside Scottish links golf course along 1.8 miles of shoreline near St Andrews, Scotland. It opened in 2000 and has been rated as one of the best courses in Scotland. It has also been ranked as one of the top 100 courses in the world and received numerous media and industry awards.

  • Non-golfers could visit Glamis Castle, the childhood home of the late Queen Mother and the setting for Shakespeare’s Macbeth. A very majestic castle with Italian gardens. Lunch at the castle. 

  • Return to Kinross House

  • Drinks and hors d’oeuvres served in the drawing room 

  • Dinner served in the dining room

  • Poker evening in the Grand Salon following dinner

    Note: If Golfers prefer to take a day off from golfing, consider a day of fly fishing with a gillie, or a day of game shooting with a guide. OR, consider a Classic Vintage Car Trip: Visit the “East Nuek” of Fife including villages of Crail, Anstruther, Ele, St. Monans and Pittenweem - all very pretty seaside villages. Stop off for fish and chips in Anstruther for a real flavor of Scotland.

Day 4

 

  • Breakfast served in the breakfast room

  • Golfers play Dumbarnie (45-minute drive). It’s been noted that the opening of Dumbarnie Golf Links has been the most anticipated golf course opening in Scotland since the inauguration of Castle Stuart 10 years ago. The buzz around this new course, tucked onto the Fife Coast close to such historic names as Lundin Links, Leven and Crail, has been incredible. 

  • Non-golfers may choose to explore St Andrews and the fishing villages of East Neuk, Kellie Castle. 

  • All guests join for lunch in Elie.

  • Return to Kinross House

  • Drinks and hors d’oeuvres served in the drawing room

  • Dinner in the dining room OR at Gleneagles choosing between The Andrew Fairlie Restaurant or The Dormy

Day 5

 

  • Breakfast served in the breakfast room

  • Golfers play Carnoustie (1 hr drive). Carnoustie has hosted eight Open Championships, two Women’s Opens and two Seniors Opens making it one of the very few to have done so in the UK. It is one of the three courses used for the annual Dunhill Links, the others being Kingsbarns and the Old Course in St Andrews. The Championship Course was voted the Best Golf Course in the World in 2019 and Best Scottish Golf Course in 2018. 

  • Non-golfers to enjoy a private tartan/tweed shopping experience with Araminta Campbell. This experience takes you behind the scenes, offering a rare opportunity to witness the artistry and dedication that goes into creating exquisite textiles. Delight in the unique designs and intricate weaves that cannot be found anywhere else, engage with the artisans, gaining insight into their techniques and the stories woven into each masterpiece. Araminta Campbell is the largest producer of handwoven tartan in Scotland. 

  • Return to Kinross House

  • Drinks and hors d’oeuvres served in the drawing room

Day 6

 

  • Breakfast served in the breakfast room

  • Golfers encouraged to play at one of the Kinross’ local golf courses: The Bruce or The Montgomery, located adjacent to the estate. Lunch following at Kinross House

  • Non-golfers to consider a visit to Edinburgh for a morning of sightseeing with lunch in the city

  • Return to Kinross House

  • Boat trip to the estates' very own castle island to see the ruins of Loch Leven’s historically important castle. Light picnic appetizers and drinks on the private island.

  • Traditional Scottish dinner served in the drawing room

  • Ceilidh Band to perform after dinner with Scottish dancing and plenty of guest participation
